A harder year

Looking ahead to the start of official matches, Iniesta said that “teams are preparing better every year”, and the 2011-12 season “will be more difficult” than the last. In that respect, “we have to look for new motivations to do even better than we have done and we need to do so as quickly as possible, and we’re working on that.”

Focused on improving

The first main objective is not far away. “We have to prepare ourselves to be competitive. The Spanish Supercup is coming very soon. It is an important title and we clearly cannot let the result against Chivas affect us. What we have to do is focus on improving.”

Milito, “an example for everyone”

Also, following the announcement on Monday that Milito has been declared a free agent, Iniesta said that “as a team mate and a professional he set an example for everybody. He had a tough time with injuries but showed strength and willingness. As a friend, I wish him the best and hope things go well for him.”
