“I know what a responsibility this is and I’m ready”

Jordi Clos

In his presentation as Barca’s latest signing, Adriano Correia told reporters: “this is what I’ve worked so hard for” and revealed: “I didn’t hesitate for a second when I got the offer to come here”.

Adriano Correia’s first day as a Barca player saw him go through the pre-season medical tests with his new teammates in the morning, before being officially presented as the club’s second signing of the summer alongside Club Vice President Josep Maria Bartomeu and his new boss Pep Guardiola. “I know what a responsibility this is, and I’m ready for it”, he told the assembled media.

Short term objectives

My first sensations here have been great – the best possible. I want to start training and for the season to start so I can get to know the fans. Right now I’m centered on working hard, settling in with my new team mates and learning. I’m really excited about making a place for myself in the team”.

Dream Move

I didn’t think twice about it and now I’m really pleased to have the chance to defend the Barca colours . This was something I couldn’t let pass by”. Adriano’s versatility is going to be key for the team and he explained: “I’m comfortable playing in any of the four positions out wide. This is the best team in the world and I’m going to give everything for this club”.

Versatility

The Vice President revealed the help Seville President María del Nido had given to ensure that the move went through quickly, whilst Pep explained: “we signed him because he brings us versatility. He can play out wide on either wing, in midfield or defence. I’m convinced he’ll fit in quickly”.

In touch with Alves
Adriano will be back in the same squad as his ex-Seville teammates Alves and Keita and he’s been receiving good impressions about the club from his Brazilian friend: “I’ve been in constant contact with Alves and I asked him what it was like here - he told me playing for Barca was one of the best things to have ever happened to him.
