Iniesta suffers upper back sprain

The Club’s medical services have reported that Andres Iniesta has suffered a grade 1 sprain on the AC joint of his left upper back and he will be kept under observation to determine his availability for Wednesday’s game against Almeria.

Iniesta hurt his back in the game against Hercules after a tackle from David Cortés on 80 minutes, when he fell awkwardly and was substituted a few minutes later by Afellay. He was treated with ice packs on the bench once he had come off.

Regular starter

The injury to Iniesta, which means he is now a doubt for the Almeria game, is the first he has suffered all season, during which he has played 31 games and scored 7 goals.
