Laporta: “Dedicated to all Barça fans”

President Joan Laporta never forgets the supporters. He knew that they suffered on Saturday, but ended up joyful. And so it was to them he dedicated the win in the Clubs World Cup Final.

On Friday, a day before the game, Joan Laporta said to Barça TV and www.fcbarcelona.cat that if they were to win today, then that would officially recognise them as the greatest team in the world. Guardiola’s side had already done enough this year to warrant that, but now there can be no arguing. This is indeed the best team in the world.

Not easy

Joan Laporta wanted to congratulate everybody on this historic achievement. He said “there was a lot of suffering. It was never going to be an easy match against an Argentinian team. We suffered a lot but Barça clearly dominated the game. It is not easy to become world champions. You have to do a lot to get here, and then to win it.”

Dedicated to all

As he said “this is a record that can be equalled but never beaten”.

A team to remember

“This team really is making our dreams come true” said Laporta, before adding that not only had they won six trophies, but they won them “with value and sentiment.”

Txiki: “This team knows no limits”
FC Barcelona technical secretary Txiki Begiristain was proud of the performance by his team, and especially for coming back from behind. “Not every team can do that. We don’t let our heads drop. We keep going, keep going...”.

The Clubs World Cup conquered, Txiki has no doubt that his team will keep winning and winning, for even though they had already won the treble “we then had the Super Cups and we won those too. Then there was this one, and we won this too … this team knows no limits. The only limit is that there are no more titles to be won. But this team will never stop”.
