Xavi: "We have it in our hands"

Roger Bogunyà

Xavi Hernández has not lost any of his desire to help FC Barcelona win trophies and hopes that the team can add the FIFA Club World Cup to their incredible haul at the weekend.

"We really want to make history and win six cups, that is the most anyone can win in one season," he explained. "There is only a short way to go. Now it is in our hands and if we can dominate this game then we have every chance."

Going behind

"It was not good that we started by conceding and had to come back to win the game," he continued. "We have to be ready to play against teams that are more direct than we are."

Hard working

Heavy legs

After a long calendar year Xavi admitted that Barça's players are slightly tired, but that they are ready to play in such an important game. "Yes, our legs are bit heavy, but the desire and excitement to win will see us forget that," he said.

Iniesta injury
Andrés Iniesta could miss the final with an injury and Xavi admitted that he would be missed. "We do not yet know if he will play or not and we will not find out until nearer the time," he explained. "If does miss out it would be a big blow. But we will see how he goes. It would be a shame if he does not play."
