Joan Laporta has said that he hopes Argentina make it to the 2010 World Cup and that Messi can get back into the right spirit for the forthcoming games against Getafe and Inter.

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has no doubts that he wants to see Leo Messi play in the South African World Cup. Speaking to the media after the club’s traditional floral offering to Rafael Casanova, Laporta said he was right behind the Argentinian and his nation. “Messi will be sad and his team mates have to help him get over this situation. Now he should only be thinking about Barça, there will be time in the future to think about Argentina”.

Supporting Argentina

As long as there is a chance there is hope, but that’s football, and Argentina couldn’t do it against Brazil and Paraguay. I hope they qualify in the next two games. They have the best player in the world, Messi, and a great coach in Maradona”.
