Football mourns Dani Jarque

FC Barcelona has expressed its grief to learn of the tragic death of RCD Espanyol’s Dani Jarque.

President Joan Laporta, manager Pep Guardiola and captain Carles Puyol have spoken from the United States about the dreadful news.

“We are very shocked by this tragic event, which we are deeply sorrowful to hear about. We are all in mourning today. I wish to express in the name of FC Barcelona our heartfelt condolences to RCD Espanyol on the painful loss of their captain Dani Jarque, and also to his family”.

Black armbands

The FC Barcelona players and staff were shocked to hear the news and have also expressed their sorrow both to RCD Espanyol and Dani Jarque’s family. In tonight’s game against Chivas of Guadalajara, the players will be wearing black armbands.
