Barça set for 25,329-kilometre pre-season

Roger Bogunyà

FC Barcelona's pre-season programme has taken shape and the team are set to travel around the globe before kicking off the 2010/11 campaign.

The players who are not currently on World Cup duty will report back for training on July 19 and after spending a few days in Barcelona will jet off to play their first friendly against Valerenga in norway. That trip will be 4,290 kilometres in total as the players begin to add to what is set to be an impressive amount of travelling.

On August 4 Barça have their first game on the Tour of Asia as they take on a K-League Select XI in the South Korean capital of Seoul. That journey is 9,612 kilometres.

China is the next stop as Pep Guardiola's side meet Guoan in Beijing having flown the 957 kilometres from Seoul for the game on August 8.

Following that tour the reigning Spanish league champions are due to play in the Spanish Super Cup after an 8,808 kilometre flight home. The two legs are pencilled in for August 14 and 21, but the Spanish Football Federation are yet confirm this.

That Super Cup tie pits Barça against the Copa del Rey winners Sevilla and that means another 1,662 kilometre journey south to the Andalucian capital.
