Barca players prepare for World Cup

There are 14 Barca players at the 2010 World Cup which starts on Friday, with only the Ivory Coast and Spanish teams yet to arrive in South Africa.


With less than a week to go till the tournament begins, the various Barca players called up by their national teams are all working hard to prepare to challenge for the trophy. Only Spain and the Ivory Coast have yet to arrive in South Africa, with the Argentina, Brazil, France and Mexico teams already ensconced in the tournament HQs.

Final warm up games

ALVES_1.jpgSpain will play their final warm up game on Tuesday against Poland, whilst Brazil play Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on Monday before making their way across the continent to South Africa.

Drogba blow for Touré’s team

Touré Yaya’s Ivory Coast team are still reeling from the injury to their main man, striker Didier Drogba, who is hoping to recover from a broken elbow after an emergency operation in Switzerland, to take some part in the tournament for his country who face a difficult group alongside Dani Alves’ Brazil, Portugal and North Korea.
