Ibra decisive again

Edgar Fornós

Zlatan Ibrahimovic showed again on Saturday that he is a striker with the knack of getting those all important goals. His strike against Mallorca gave Barca the points and made it three goals in the last three games for the Swede.

Guardiola keeps insisting on the importance of having Ibra at his best if the team are to win titles this season and the striker has responded by turning his game up a gear as the business end of the season approaches. His goals against Zaragoza, Osasauna and Mallorca have taken him to 15 in the league this season and he seems to be coming back into the goals at just the right time.

Valuable goals

In Round 12 against Real Madrid, it was his goal that won the points, as happened with his strikes against Espanyol two rounds later and in the Champions it was Ibra who got the important equaliser against Stuttgart in Germany that laid the foundations for the win in the return game.

Breaking the deadlock

2010-03-24_PARTIDO_72.JPGHis goal against Mallorca was the 8th time this season that he’s broken the deadlock in a game, having opened the scoring at the Nou Camp against Atlètico Madrid, Espanyol, Osasuna and Real Madrid, whilst doing the same on the road at Getafe, in Santander Malaga and most recently, Mallorca.
