Henry feels he’s on the up

Barca striker Thierry Henry told reporters today: “I’m feeling good, better than at the start of the season. I know I’m not scoring, but I am trying to get on target in every game”.

I tried in Valladolid with that bicycle kick and before that against Seville and Tenerife too, but it just wouldn’t happen”.

He may not have been scoring, but Henry feels he’s back on form: “after the trouble I had with my knee which stopped me playing at 100%, I’m feeling much better with every game I play. I feel better than I did at the start of the season”.

Good memories of El Molinón

2010-01-26_ENTRENO_08.JPGLast season Barca got their first win of the campaign at the Molinon and then went on a 20-game unbeaten league run and Henry has very good memories of the ground: “I remember that game very well. We played very well and after that the league went really well. Even though we won 1-6 last season it is still a tough ground to visit and we will have to be very focussed if we are to take the points this time round”.

“Guardiola is vital”

Just last Wednesday Club President Laporta announced that Pep Guardiola would be staying at the club for another season and Henry commented: “it’s very important for me that Guardiola is staying on for a long time as with him we’ve won everything. It’s vital he stays so that we keep on as we have done so far”.

Praise for Pedro and Abidal
Henry also praised his teammates Pedro and Abidal who are going through a good patch of form: “Abi is showing that he’s not just a good defender, but that he can also provide good chances too. Pedro is really making the most of the time he’s getting and scoring lots of goals. He’s an incredible player and I wish him all the best”.
