Alves: "We made the game easy with our display"

Alves believes that Barça's superb performance against Valencia made what could have been a very tricky encounter into a comfortable victory. "We knew that it was going to be a difficult game, but in the end the way we played made it easy," he said.

The Brazilian full-back was delighted with the way that the Blaugrana played on Saturday evening and that "my level in games is improving all the time because of professionalism and hard work on the pitch, which is what I try to give. From there things are going well."

Below is what some of the other players had to say after the victory:

"We knew that to win we had to play well because had not yet lost an away game. They were a very difficult side to play."

"You always gain confidence after games such as this one, but as ahead of my performance, I would like to emphasise the work of the whole team in helping towards the win."

“We all do what we can on the pitch to help the team. Today Eto’o was not available and I have scored three goals, but perhaps another day I will have to defend more.”

"We are very pleased with the way that we have played and with the result.

"We are all happy for Henry, he is a great player and he had a very good evening.

"We will not relax because nothing has been decided. We will only relax when the league is won."

We are very happy with the way the defence played because Valencia has some very strong forward who are difficult to stop."

"It is normal to hear praise. We have not done well over the last few seasons and it is logical that the media are generating excitement."

"The team has done very well in the first half of the league. We will continue step-by-step with each game as it comes."

"We would like to thank the fans because today was a festival for them. That support is very important to us."

"I feel very good after my injury. I have worked hard over the past three weeks to recover and I not felt any pain."

"We played a great game against a difficult side with some very good players. But we are also very good and we were superior."

"Henry has shown that when Eto'o is not on the pitch he is also capable of scoring goals."

"We knew that it would be a complicated game, but everything turned out well for us."

"I am very pleased with the three goals for Henry, he deserved them. We hope to continue playing like this all season."

Match ball for Henry
The team will not have a day off on Sunday and will instead begin to prepare for the Champions League game against Shakhtar Donetsk, that will be played on Tuesday, just four days before el Clásico against Real Madrid. Thierry Henry took home the match ball after having it signed by all his team-mates to commemorate his hat-trick, a tradition he picked up in England.
