Bojan joins full Spain side

www.fcbarcelona.cat

The Barça forward has been called up by Spain coach Vicente del Bosque to replace Fernando Torres, who picked up an injury during this Sunday’s game between Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Bojan is to stand in for the sidelined Fernando Torres in Spain’s 2010 World Cup qualifying games against Armenia and Bosnia. The Catalan striker had in fact travelled to Madrid this morning along with Piqué and Pedro to join up with the under-21 squad for its matches with Kazakhstan and Russia.

Second call-up

This means that Bojan is joining Xavi, Puyol and Iniesta, who were in the initial squad named by Del Bosque for the two fixtures. The four were also in the initial squad announced by the Spanish manager for the recent friendly with Denmark, a game which Bojan in the end did not play in.
