Barça debuts at Camp Nou

Marc Guillén

On Wednesday against Wisla, all five of the new signings may get the chance to don the Barça shirt at the Camp Nou for the first time.

No player can possibly be indifferent about making their debut at the Camp Nou, and this will happen to these players in none other than a Champions League qualifier. However, all of the newcomers, apart from Alexander Hleb, have played at the Camp Nou before, but in a different shirt.

In a Sevilla shirt

Keita only got one chance, in game four of the last league season, while Alves played in the Barça stadium many a time during his six seasons at Sevilla, in both the League and Cup.

Huelva and Catalonia

The two 21 year old centre backs, Martín Cáceres and Gerard Piqué have also played at the Camp Nou. The Uruguayan played 90 minutes of the FC Barcelona v Recreativo Huelva game last season, and the Catalan represented Catalonia in the exhibition match against Argentina just a few months ago.

Reserve debutants
Josep Guardiola is also using no fewer than five reserve team players in Pedro, Busquets, Vázquez, Jeffren and Sánchez. Pedro and Víctor Sánchez have already played official matches for Barça at the Camp Nou, but the others are all eagerly awaiting their first opportunity.
