Messi thanks Barça

After his debut at the Beijing Olympics, Messi thanked Barça for having allowed him to stay in China and make his Olympic dream come true.

Leo Messi thanked Barça and in particular first team coach Josep Guardiola for letting him play with Argentina at the Beijing Olympics. After the victory over Ivory Coast in the first match (1-2), Messi told the press that he was very grateful to the club and the coach for letting him stay in China and make his Olympic dream come true.

Good game but tiring

Messi was the outstanding player in the Ivory Coast game even though he admitted that he finished it exhausted: “I was really tired at the end due to the heat and how hard the game was. I’m really pleased to have played because after everything that’s gone on I missed being out on the pitch. Winning the first game is really important and we’ve made a good start.”
