Henry lost for words

Marc Guillén/Berta Brau

Like the rest of the team, it’s been an astonishing ride for Thierry Henry this season and with the historic season now over he insists: “it’s something we have to be proud of – it’s an incredible thing we’ve done”.

Although the Frenchman has demonstrated since he came to the Nou Camp that he’s a thinking player and never short of an informed quote for the press, after the achievements of this season he confessed: “there’s no words to define this season. We’ve done something no other team has ever done here – the triple!”

Dream come true

It’s actually come true”.

Finally, the Champions League

That day his Arsenal side were beaten by Barca and it’s perhaps fitting that the Frenchman’s career has been crowned with a winners medal thanks to that same Barca. “It’s incredible to win the Champions League” he insisted, whilst wryly smiling –“I was there that night in Paris and we all know what happened”.

Culé pride

Henry won over the hearts of the fans during the celebrations on 28th May when he told them: “I’m a culé” and it’s clear that he sees the pride in the club and its achievements was fundamental in its success: “we should all be proud of what we’ve done – we’ll always be able to say we were part of the first Spanish team to win the triple and that will go down in history”.

Back to his old self
Henry’s success this season, like the team’s itself, is in contrast to last year, when he was disappointed with his first campaign at the club. With Guardiola showing full confidence in him this year he’s been back at his best and chalked up 25 goals in 40 games.
