Objective is to score at Stamford Bridge

Berta Brau

Even though Chelsea have let in very few goals at home this season, Barça need to score if they want to reach the final in Rome. Four score draws and two defeats for the London outfit at Stamford Bridge give the Catalans cause for hope.

So far this season Chelsea have only conceded 17 goals at home in the Champions and Premier Leagues: five in the Champions League and twelve in the EPL. Cech may not have let in that many, but a Barça goal on Wednesday would make life tough for the Londoners.

Need to win

Chelsea have to win to get through the semi-finals and reach Rome. A score draw or a Barça win and they are out. The Blues have been good at home this season but there have been six results which, if repeated this Wednesday, would put Barça through to the final.

Six results

Chelsea have also lost at home in this campaign, as Arsenal (1-2) and Liverpool (0-1) both came away from Stamford Bridge with three EPL points.

By contrast, Chelsea haven’t lost at home in the Champions League since the 2005/06 season, when Barça beat them 1-2 in the last 16.

Barça’s attack against Chelsea’s defence
This Wednesday Stamford Bridge will be the venue for a heavyweight clash where a lot of the attention will be on the Chelsea box. That’s because while Barça have scored 14 goals on the road, the Londoners have only let in five, and those came in two games. In the other three they kept a clean sheet.
