Gudjohnsen unable to train

Edgar Fornós/Roger Bogunyà

The last training session of the week was held on Thursday morning in the Joan Gamper sports complex. The session was led by Tito Vilanova while Eidur Gudjohnsen was ruled out with a stomach bug.

The senior squad, or at least those players who do not have international commitments, trained for the last time this week today at the Joan Gamper sports complex. They will now enjoy a break until Tuesday afternoon.

In theory, Gudjohnsen is due to join up with his national squad on Friday. This may be delayed depending on the development of his illness.

Eight from the academy

Apart from the six members of the senior squad, there were also six players from Barça Atlètic (Nolito, Verdés, Maric, Rayo, Gai and Solano) as well as two from the youth squad (Oriol Romeu and Rochina).
