Back to small-scale training

After the win against Malaga, the first team returned to training without the international absentees. Guardiola only has nine first team players available, so they teamed up for training with members of Barça Atlètic.

The three goalkeepers, Valdés, Jorquera and Pinto, plus Márquez, Gudjohnsen, Sylvinho, Bojan, Pedro and Víctor Sánchez were the only first team players available for the session held on Tuesday afternoon at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper. The session involved these players and Luis Enrique’s Barça Atlètic.

The reason is that the lion’s share of the first team squad is away on international duty.

Presence of Barça Atlètic

Injured players back

The injured Puyol, Abidal and Milito are all still recovering from respective injuries. Iniesta will be doing likewise following today’s trip to Madrid to be inspected by the Spanish Federation’s doctors. He has been confirmed once again as having a torn abductor muscle in his right leg.
