"I want to win the Champions League"

Edgar Fornós

Thierry Henry has one main desire this season with FC Barcelona as he stated that "I want to win the Champions League. It is a competition that I am passionate about and I have never won it".

Shortly after FC Barcelona were drawn against Bayern Munich in the quarter finals of the competition, the striker declared that he wants to go all the way to Rome and win the trophy that is missing from his medals cabinet, but also stated that beating Bayern will not be easy. "They are a very good team. They have just beaten Sporting in the last round and they are in great form," he explained.

All difficult teams

They have players that can win games like Miroslav Klose, Luca Toni, Bastian Schweinsteiger and, above all, Franck Ribery. We have a chance to do well, but we will have to be very focussed in both games."

Playing away second has no effect

Barça will play the second leg away from home, but Henry does not consider this to be anything to consider. "You never know which way round will be better," he continued. "If play well at home and manage to win then we can go to Germany and be calmer."

"I did not want to play Arsenal"

There was one team that Henry is pleased that Barcelona avoided as he did not want to play against Arsenal in either the quarter finals or the semi finals. "The only one that I did not want to play against was Arsenal," he stated. "To play against your former club is always a strange feeling and no one that I want to experience again."

League action
This weekend Barcelona take on Malaga and will have to stay focussed on the league amid all the talk of Bayern Munich and the Champions League. "It will be a difficult game as they are playing very well at the moment," Thierry Henry stated. "They are in the UEFA Cup places and we cannot take anything for granted."
