Milito back with the squad

Berta Brau

Nine months after his knee operation, Gaby Milito has finally trained with the rest of the squad. Guardiola had 22 players with him to prepare for the game at Atlético. Iniesta worked in isolation.

All eyes were fixed on one man today, Gaby Milito. It has been nine months since he started on the long road to recovery, but the Argentinian is now able to work with the other players under the same conditions. Milito underwent surgery on May 13, 2008 after tearing cruciate ligaments on his right knee, having suffered the injury on April 29 in the Champions League semi final.

Iniesta on his own

The midfielder worked hard with and without the ball as he seeks to recover as quickly as possible from a pulled muscle in his left leg, an injury he suffered in training last Tuesday week.

Guardiola and 22 men

It was a typical day’s training, with only Carles Puyol breaking away to do some specific exercises while the other players went through the normal drills.

Effects of Lyon
Leo Messi’s face was still showing the after effects of the game at Olympique Lyon. The Argentine striker still has a black eye following a tackle delivered by Toulalan in the first half of the match.
