Barça to appeal against Alves card

FC Barcelona is to appeal to the disciplinary committee against the yellow card given to Dani Alves in this Sunday’s game at Santander.
In his match report, referee Fernández Borbalán states he showed a yellow card to Alves in the 77th minute for diving. Barça’s legal department will argue that the defender did not in fact dive.
Fifth yellow
If upheld this would be Alves’s fifth yellow card leading to a one-match ban, meaning he wouldn’t be able to play in next Sunday’s game against Sporting Gijon.
