Piqué, out for sure against Mallorca

Gerard Piqué still has flu and will miss the game against Mallorca. The defender did not turn up for Guardiola’s session on the morning of the match at the Camp Nou.

Gerard Piqué has not recovered from the flu that has meant he has been absent from training since Thursday and will not form part of Josep Guardiola’s plans for the first game if the new year.

Doctors’ visit

Gerard Piqué came to the Camp Nou this morning and was once again examined by club doctors. He clearly still has a fever, and was sent straight back home.

Last session

The first team then trained together for the last time before tonight’s encounter with the islanders. Apart from Piqué, Josep Guardiola was able to train with all the players he expected and as he always does for home matches, named all 22 of them in his squad, and will strike four names from the list shortly before kick off.
