Eight first teamers and five from Barça B

Marc Guillén/Roger Bogunyà

Eight first team players and five from the reserves trained today at La Masia.

Valdés, Jorquera, Gudjohnsen, Márquez, Oleguer, Bojan, Sylvinho and Ezquerro were the first team players that started training at 5.30.

But they were joined in their efforts by five regular members of the B team in Marc Crosas, Jeffren, Espasandín, Fali and Toribio.

Ezquerro starts alone

Santi Ezquerro started the first part of the session on his own, but joined the others for the remainder. This was the same situation as for the Monday session.

Goalkeepers with Unzúe

It was also nice to see Víctor Valdés back after he missed the Monday session because he was in Malaga appearing in a charity match.

Giovani, in the Camp Nou

Mexican Giovani dos Santos, after training alone in the morning at La Masia, continued his work after lunch in the Camp Nou. Gio worked with a fitness trainer on short shots on goal, ball control and support, working at a similar rate to in the morning.

Before going onto the Camp Nou turf, the Mexican had also worked out in the gym along with Portuguese international Deco.

Pistols to measure changes of pace
Tuesday’s session included the unusual presence of pistols to measure the players’ speeds. They were used to measure how the players pace was adjusted in the initial phases of a sprint.
