Intensive session for Valdés and Jorquera

David Puig / Anna Segura

Goalkeepers Valdés and Jorquera had a special and very intensive training session on Thursday morning.

Víctor Valdés and Albert Jorquera appeared on the training grounds at 10.30 am and were put through their paces by goalkeeping coach Juan Carlos Unzué, who told us that the international break was the ideal opportunity to do some specialised training: “It gives you the chance to do some fitness work and combine it with goalkeeping skills. We corrected a number of movements in order to improve them”.

The absence of so many players due to the international break means that this week’s training sessions have been sparsely attended but Juan Carlos Unzué still sees the positive aspect: “It gives us the chance to work on certain aspects without the fear factor imposed by the match”.

Oleguer and Ezquerro

Meanwhile, Sylvinho, Gudjohnsen and Touré did some muscle toning exercises in the gym. After this, Sylvinho and Gudjohnsen practised shooting on the Camp Nou pitch.

Edmílson exercises with the ball
