Team to return from Valladolid on Friday

The Barça squad will not be able to return from Valladolid until Friday morning because by the time the game on Thursday night is over, the local airport will be closed.

The late start for Thursday’s away fixture at Valladolid (22.00h) and the fact that the local airport closes at a certain time means the team will be staying overnight in the Castilian city. Rijkaard and his squad will be flying back first thing Friday morning.

Straight to training

They will arrive back in Barcelona at 11.20 and will be transferred directly to the Camp Nou for a training session. Just 48 hours later the squad will be together again to start preparing for their Sunday fixture against Betis (19.00h).

Precedents last season

This situation is nothing new for Frank Rijkaard. Last season the same thing happened twice, after a league match away to Deportivo la Coruña and a Champions league match in Liverpool, Barça stayed overnight in the away city and flew back on the morning after.
