Gudjohnsen out of Asia trip

Eidur Gudjohnsen will not participate in FC Barcelona's tour of the Far East and will stay at Camp Nou along with Carles Puyol and Edmílson as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

The Icelandic international has been left out of the tour party by coach Frank Rijkaard in order to allow the forward to continue working on his recovery programme. Gudjohnsen has had the knee problem since last season and has already missed out on the trip to Scotland, as did fellow injury victims Puyol and Edmílson.

Also missing

As well as being without Gudjohnsen, Puyol and Edmílson, Rijkaard will also not have the services of Lionel Messi, Rafa Márquez and Gaby Milito in Asia as the trio will begin pre-season training in Catalunya after returning from holiday.
