We want the people to identify with the team, and for the team to give the members what they want, good football ... FC Barcelona is a demanding club and any player that wants to stay here has to put their heart into it and I have always wanted to carry on playing here, doing things well and winning titles.”

New boss

When the season starts, he will be working under the orders of a new manager, Pep Guardiola. Says Sylvinho, “if he is the first team coach it is because he deserves the position. He has done a great job with the B team. He has plenty of character and knows the place well. He is the kind of person who will be enthusiastic about doing as good a job as possible.”

New arrivals

The three new signings made so far are all defensive players, Keita, Piqué and Cáceres. The Brazilian commented that “they are all players with a lot to give us. They had good seasons with their old clubs. And they are all young but experienced, and excited about coming here.
