Iniesta: “We played like we did on Wednesday”

Anna Segura

All the Barça players agreed after the game that the attitude of the team was very positive in the victory against Levante. The triumphs of recent weeks have given the squad a lot of confidence.

The game against Levante was more of the same following on from the match in Glasgow. In recent matches the side has not only been achieving key victories but also playing at the top of its form.

Andrés Iniesta:

“It was a very important match. They are bottom of the table, it’s true, but they really gave it a go.”

“We won and we played well. We played like we did on Wednesday.”

“Getting straight back to 2-1 gave us a breathing space.”

“We’re in a good position now. We have games non-stop, but the important thing is that the team believes in itself and is growing in confidence and playing the way we can play.”

“Eto'o is the sort of player every team wants to have. He’s just exceptional. Touré is also having a fantastic season. He gives you a lot of security and peace of mind.”

Leo Messi:

“The important thing is that things are going well for us. I’m really pleased with the way the team is playing.”

Xavi:

“We’re delighted with the win.”

“We’re feeling really confident now. The team is going well and morale is sky-high. We really believe in ourselves.”

“We have to take advantage of the fact that we’re on a roll at the moment.”

“I’m pleased to have scored five in the League. I’m playing further forward at the moment and I’m always looking for chances. I just need to hang in there and I reckon I’ll be able to score more goals.”

Gianluca Zambrotta:

“The first half was hard. We played quite well and in the right frame of mind. We’ve got to continue that way.”

“It’s great to have players back. We need everyone because we have a lot of games.”

“I just instinctively stuck out a hand in the area. It happens and I regret it. Sometimes you just make mistakes.”

Víctor Valdés:

“It was a tough game, especially in the first half. But we played really well. It’s been a great week for both results and good football.”

“We improved a lot of things in January. Both physically and technically we’re getting better all the time.”
