Oleguer and Ezquerro, the new additions to the squad

Oleguer and Ezquerro are the new names added to the Barça squad for the first leg of Wednesday’s cup semi-final while Edmílson, Ronaldinho, Belletti and Motta are all absent through injury. Coach Rikjaard also left Sylvinho and Giuly out of the squad

Barça trained behind closed doors on Tuesday in preparation for the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi final against Getafe. The key first leg match takes place at the Camp Nou on Wednesday.

Ahead of the big game, the coach has called up a squad of sixteen players. Notable inclusions are Oleguer Presas and Santi Ezquerro who both return to the squad after missing the last league encounter versus Mallorca. The others are Valdés, Jorquera , Puyol, Xavi, Deco, Zambrotta, Iniesta, Eto'o, Messi, Gudjohnsen, Gio, Saviola, Thuram i Márquez.

Absentees

17-04-07_08.jpgAs expected, Rikjaard was unable to call upon the injured players Thiago Motta, Juliano Belletti and Ronaldinho. This Tuesday José Edmilson was added to the injured list with a right leg injury. Rikjaard has decided not to include full-back Sylvinho and French winger Ludovic Giuly.

Aside from the injured players, Rafa Marquez was also missing from Tuesday’s training session due to personal reasons. However, the Mexican has been included in the squad list for the upcoming cup match. The '4' has trained this afternoon in solitaire in the field of the Masia with the fitness coach, Paco Seirul·lo.
