“This match comes at a good time for us”

Ahead of the game against Getafe, Albert Jorquera believes “the manner in which we won the last league match has given us a boost”. According to the goalkeeper that means “we go into this game at a good time”.

With the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals just around the corner, Albert Jorquera was the Barça player chosen to participate in Tuesday’s press conference. The goalkeeper, who this season has appeared in all the cup matches, says that the match with Getafe is “one of the most important games of the season. We’ve done well in the cup so far this season”.

Morale is high

We go into this game at a good moment”. Jorquera acknowledged that the first leg at the Camp Nou is very important: “We must try kill the tie off at home. The most important thing for us is not to concede. We have to keep a clean sheet”.

No rivalry

Jorquera says, “we both know our roles in the team and we accept the way things are”. Nonetheless Jorquera stressed that he is determined to continue fighting for a place in the team, “things can change, although I’m also realistic. I’m happy in the team and in training but I will continue to work hard so that the coach might have to think twice.

His future
Albert Jorquera also spoke about his future at Barça. Asked whether Wednesday’s match will be his last at the Camp Nou, the goalkeeper responded, “we will see, a lot of things can happen but I also have a year left on my contract”.

Finally the player was asked to comment on last weekend’s refereeing controversies. Jorquera concluded by saying that “we don’t get favours for referees”.
