Training in the cold

Barça are fully focused on the clásico on Monday. In cold temperatures, they trained at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper with 19 players, 18 from the first team and reserve Thiago Alcántara.

Thursday’s session was about gentle recovery after the trip to Greece, but Josep Guardiola raised the intensity today as the team prepares for the massive showdown against old rival Real Madrid on Monday night.

Cold weather

They started at 11.00 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, behind closed doors and coping with very low temperatures of around five degrees centigrade.

Winter clothing

So the players were kitted out on tracksuit bottoms, long sleeved shirts and even caps. Winter has certainly arrived in Barcelona.

18 + Thiago Alcántara

All of the first team players were involved, apart from the injured Milito. That meant the other 18 players were all present, and they were joined by somebody who becoming more and more of a regular in these sessions, Barça B’s Thiago Alcántara.
