Ronaldinho given warm welcome

Ronaldinho has been given the farewell from the adoring FC Barcelona fans that he was unable to have when he left Camp Nou two seasons ago and he clearly enjoyed the moment.

The Brazilian felt the warmth of his former club's fans as soon as he took to the pitch to warm-up ahead of the Trofeo Gamper game against AC Milan. After embracing Barça skipper Carles Puyol the supporters began to sing his name from the stands and a number of banners and messages were displayed thanking him for all he did for the club.

Video tribute

Before kick off Ronaldinho was rewarded with a homage to him as both teams lined up while he remained in the tunnel and when the crowd fell silent he entered and a huge roar went up to welcome him back. The Milan number 80 watched before leaving the tunnel as a montage of his best moments for Barça was played on the giant videoscreens at either end of the ground.

The message at the end of the video read 'Thank you for everything Ronaldinho' and it was the sentiment that everyone inside Camp Nou was feeling.
