He was destined to end up at Barca

www.fcbarcelona.cat

Adriano Correia’s career has been curiously interwoven with Barca even before he signed for the club earlier this week, as you can read below.

Who did Adriano make his league debut for Seville against?

The Brazilian arrived at Seville in the winter transfer window of 2005 and made his debut at the Sanchez Pijuan against Frank Rijkaard’s Barca, who ran out easy 0-4 winners.

Who did he play his last league game for Seville against?

That’s right, Barca! In the teams’ penultimate league game of the season, Guardiola’s men faced a tough looking trip to Seville in a game many saw as key to retaining the title. Adriano was again on the losing side as Barca took the game 2-3.

Where did Adriano win his last title with Seville?

The Nou Camp was the venue for the final of last year’s Spanish Cup, which Seville won, beating Atletico Madrid. Although he picked up a medal as a squad player, Adriano missed the final with a muscle injury.

Will he find friends in the Barca squad?

He certainly will. To start with, he’ll be linking up with two ex-Seville teammates, Dani Alves and Keita.

Adriano’s first season at the Seville was also Keita’s last before he joined Barca, but the Brazilian has already stated his satisfaction at linking up with the Mali international again.

All in all, it looks like Adriano was destined to end up at Barca!
