River Plate’s stadium was the venue for this Copa America warm-up match, in which the "albiceleste" were simply far too good for a weak Albanian team. Lavezzi, Messi, Agüero and Tévez were on target in an emphatic 4-0 win.

Leo Messi gets machine going

There is no such thing as a friendly match where Messi is concerned, and the game had barely started before he laid on an assist for Lavezzi to open the scoring. Before the break, Messi himself found the net after a clever combination with Banega was followed by a beautifully placed strike to beat Albania keeper Hidi.

Tévez and Agüero finish the job

Messi had a great chance to score his second in the second half when latching upon a defensive error from Lika, but his deft chip failed to find the net. But he made up for that by setting the next goal up for Agüero, while Tévez rounded things off with a goal of his own in the final minute.

Sergio Batista’s side start the Copa America campaign on July 1 against Bolivia.
