Carles Puyol worked for a while with the rest of the squad this morning, as did Milito. Before the session, a number of the players were subjected to a UEFA drug test control.
After a few days working apart from the rest of the group, the club captain trained with the rest
of the squad for a while this morning, as the players had their second session of the week at the
Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, ahead of Saturday’s final league game in Malaga and the
following weekend’s Champions League final.
All the first team squad came out for training with Gaby Milito and
Carles Puyol joining in for a part of the session and youngsters Thiago, Bartra, Jonathan dos
Santos, Sergi Roberto, Miño and Oier also joining in.
The session was open to the media for the first 15 minutes and was also visited by
Barça legend Luis Suárez and the coaches Claudio Ranieri and Ernesto Valverde.
UEFA drug tests
Ten of the players -Maxwell, Thiago, Sergio Busquets, Pedro, Milito, Pinto, Afellay, Abidal,
Bojan and Iniesta - were subjected to a routine UEFA drug test after training. The squad last had a
drug test visit from UEFA on May 6th and, although it is not obligatory, they also took voluntary
drug tests in 5 of the 6 Champions League group games, as well as the obligatory tests in the knock
out rounds –all of which were negative.
