Guardiola, to continue the streak against Madrid

The balance of the battles in the “clásicos” while Josep Guardiola has been the manager is unbeatable. Five league matches and all five ended in a Barça victory. This Saturday, in Madrid, they’ll play the second derby of the current season, the sixth of the Guardiola era at the helm of the club.

Three managers beaten

2010-11-29_PARTIDO_24.JPGJuande Ramos, Manuel Pellegrini and José Mourinho have been the Madrid managers who have challenged Barça in the last five games. Guardiola’s team defeated Juande Ramos's side in the 2008/09 season, by 2-0 (Eto'o and Messi) in the Camp Nou, and 6-2 in Madrid (Henry 2, Messi 2, Puyol, and Pique).

Last season, with Pellegrini on the Madrid bench, Barça also won both league games: 1-0 at the Camp Nou (Ibrahimovic) and 2-0 in Madrid (Messi and Pedro). Last November Barca beat Mourinho’s Real Madrid 5-0 (Xavi, Pedro, Villa 2, and Jeffren) at the Camp Nou.

The balance of goals in the last 5 matches is 16 goals for Barça (half of them scored in Madrid) and 2 for Real Madrid.

Malaga and Zaragoza as well

Not only Real Madrid has always lost against Guardiola’s Barça. Malaga and Zaragoza have also been defeated, in every game, by the League Champions. Zaragoza have lost 4 times in the League, whilst Malaga have accumulated 5 defeats against the team that Pep Guardiola manages.
