Messi misses training

Marc Guillén / Anna Segura

Leo Messi missed this morning’s training session with fever. The Argentinean passed a difficult night and after doctors visited him, it was decided that he should miss training.

The squad were back at the Ciutat Esportiva following last night’s win over Malaga and the winning of the honorific title of Winter Champions to prepare for Wednesday’s Cup game against Betis in Seville.

Bout of fever

The session began at 11.00 without Leo Messi, who suffered a bout of fever during the night and was examined by doctors on his arrival at the Ciutat Esportiva before being sent straight back home. Dani Alves was also missing following the injury he picked up against Malaga.

The session saw the players involved in last night’s game training more gently, whilst the rest of the squad began more vigorous preparations for the Cup game at the Benito Villamarin on Wednesday.

The players will be back for another session on Tuesday at 11.00.
