Zubi: “Milito is staying”

Andoni Zubizarreta confirmed this evening that Gaby Milito will not be leaving the club during the winter transfer window, despite intense media speculation about a move.

The good news for Pep Guardiola is that the Argentinean centre back will be staying at the club after he decided not to take up any of the offers he was made by other clubs. The news was given by the Club’s Sporting Director of Professional Football, Andoni Zubizarreta, at half time during tonight’s game against Malaga: “he’s staying. He told us that he had thought it through and he’s not leaving. We are very happy because our preferred option was to have him stay in the squad”.

Great first half to the season

Zubizarreta also spoke about the great first half of the season that the team have put in: “it sounds miraculous, but it’s been built on hard work and effort”.

Zubi also commented on the contract renewals pending at the Club: “we’re going to have a very intense week in the offices which should help us sort out some of the things we have”.
