Light session before game

David Saura (special correspondent) / Anna Segura

The first team trained this morning at Washington University in Seattle in their last session before the Seattle Sounders game.

As they did before the Los Angeles Galaxy game, Barça had a lighter session this Wednesday morning in Seattle. In cold conditions Josep Guardiola’s men trained at Washington University.

Tactics

2009-08-05_EQUIPO_01.jpgJosep Guardiola worked on tactics with his players. He focussed on positional play in defence and the team practised set piece defending.

The squad split into two for this, with half doing the set piece moves and the other half playing keep ball.

Medical report

2009-08-05_GUARDIOLA_01.jpgAs on Tuesday Valdés, Ibrahimovic and Iniesta trained apart from the rest of the squad. Valdés is practically ruled out of the Seattle Sounders game with a knee problem, while Ibrahimovic can train but not play. Iniesta spent the morning in the gym to get back into shape after a virus.

Guardiola and Harkes
At the end of the session, Josep Guardiola said hello to John Harkes, the former US player who has taken part in three World Cups. Harkes is now a commentator for ESPN, the station which is to broadcast the Seattle Sounders vs. Barça clash.
