Pedro aims to complete six of the best

Roger Bogunyà (enviat especial)

Barca's young winger is just a single goal away from making history - if he's on target in Abu Dhabi he'll become the first player to score in six different competitions in one season.

His record, should he achieve it, is all the more impressive given that his goals have come in just four months of football, he'd actually never scored for the first team until August, since when he's found the net in the League, Spanish Cup, Champions League, Spanish Super Cup and European Super Cup. The FIFA World Club Cup is the last competition he has to score in to achieve his record of scoring in all six competitions Barca have been involved in this season.

“Let's hope the good run continues”

We're excited about it and if I can score too, than all the better”.

“The perfect year”

supercampions_x3x.jpgFor Pedro it's easy to talk about his own ambitions and those of the team, as they all are centered on taking the team's six title of the year. Just a year ago Pedro was playing for Barca Atlètic, and looking back he explained that winning this title: “would make it a perfect year, both for me and the team”.

Abu Dhabi should be prepared for the best of Pedro, who's from the Canary Islands and with the beaches and the heat reckons he feels right at home: “I've certainly adapted very well” he explained.

Messi is key
Pedro is aware that he could feature more or less depending on Leo Messi's availability. The European Player of the Year finished the game in Kiev with an injury that ruled him out of last weekend's derby against Espanyol and his participation in Abu Dhabi remains in doubt. Despite the opportunity Messi's absence could present, Pedro is clear what would be best for the team: “let's hope he plays and the sooner the better. He's a really important player for the team”.
