Espanyol next up

FC Barcelona’s first-team were put through their paces on Thursday afternoon following their qualification for the Champions League first knockout stage the evening before.

Lionel Messi was not able to participate though as he underwent tests on an ankle injury that have seen him ruled out of the local derby against Espanyol at the weekend.

Gym work

Young stars

In order to make up the number coach Pep Guardiola called upon the services of Young goalkeeper Jordi Masip as well as Jonathan Dos Santos and Thiago Alcántara. The three enjoyed the full training session alongside the first-team players.

Specific routine

Coaching conference
The next training session will take place on Friday morning at 11.00 when the focus will be on the derby against Espanyol. The two coaches, Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino will then participate in joint press conference at Camp Nou at 13.45 as is the norm ahead of a game between the local rivals.
