Visitors to the UEFA website can vote until 8th January for the best footballers of 2009. Eleven Barca players figure in the 60 finalists, as does Pep Guardiola in the best manager category.

The Barca players who figure in the list for the 2009 Team of the Year of uefa.com are: Víctor Valdés as goalkeeper; Alves as right back; Piqué, Puyol and Txigrinski as centre halves; Abidal, as left back Xavi and Touré as midfielders, Iniesta as inside left and Ibrahimovic and Messi as strikers. Barca have nominees in every position and boss Pep Guardiola is one of the five candidates as best manager.
