Long trip to Kazan

Barca face one of their most complicated trips of recent years when they fly off to Kazan on Monday, with below zero temperatures awaiting them at the end of a five and a half hour flight.


Barca's usual routine is to get to their Champions Legaue venue a day before the game, but for Wednesday's match, Guardiola has decided to get his players to Kazan on Monday.

Monday lunchtime flight

2009-09-15_VIAJE_WEB_04.JPGThe Barca squad fly out from El Prat at 13.00 on Monday after 9.30 training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The five and a half hour flight will cover 3.387 kilometres and arrive at 20.30 local time (18.30 Spanish time).

Freezing temperatures

As if the long trip wasn't enough, the players will also have to face sub-zero temperatures with the forecast for Wednesday threatening maximums of 0 degrees and minimums of minus 6, with strong winds that could produce a chill factor of minus 10.

Training on Tuesday

Central_stadium.jpgThe squad will train at the Central Stadium in Kazan at 18.00 on Tuesday( 16.00 Spanish time), with Guardiola and one of the players giving their press conference 45 minutes earlier. However, here is also the possibility of an additional training session at the Rubin Kazin installations for Tuesday morning if the technical staff decide they need it.

Back on Thursday

With the game kicking off at 20.30 local time(18.30 Spanish time), the squad will stay overnight in Kazan and return home on Thursday morning, The players should arrive in Barcelona at two in the afternoon and they will then go to the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper for training.

Next stop... Mallorca
There's very little time for the players to take a breather as they face Mallorca in La Liga on Saturday night at 20.00, for which training has been scheduled on Friday morning and Saturday lunchtime.
