200th European Cup game on Wednesday

Fifty years ago Barca played their first European Cup game in Sofi and the Kazan game on Wednesday will be Barca's 200th in Europe's top competition. Between the two games Barca have won three titles in six finals.
Barca have played in Europe every season, though not always in the European Cup, a competition
they have taken part in on 20 occasions over the last 54 seasons.
The majority of the 200 games have been played since 1991, when the league format
was introduced. Barca's first European Cup game was played on 3rd September 1959, when they drew
2-2 against CDNA Sofia in Bulgaria.

The six finals
Barca have reached the final of the competition 6 times in their 20 appearances. After the disappointments of Bern in 1961 and Seville in 1986, they won their first title at Wembley in 1992. The Dream Team couldn't repeat their win in Athens two years later and the club had to wait until 2006 in Paris to pick up their second title. The third, unforgettable win to round off the treble came in May 2009 in Rome.

Xavi holds record number of appearances
Xavi Hernández is the player who's appeared most in the European Cup for Barca with 97 games.
Behind him are Puyol, on 91 and Víctor Valdés on 62. The leading scorer is Rivaldo, who hit 25
goals, followed by Kluivert (21) and Luis Enrique (20).
