Five contracts renewed

Roger Bogunyà

Carles Puyol has become the fifth player that has had his contract renewed by FC Barcelona since the summer as the club looks to keep some of the key players in the squad happy.

Four of those five players have been products of the club’s youth academy with Puyol following Víctor Valdés, Pedro and Lionel Messi into penning new deals. Touré Yaya has also had his future secured with a renewed contract at Camp Nou.

All ages

At 22 the forward is one end of the spectrum while Puyol, at 31, is signing a deal that will ensure that he remains a one club man throughout his career. Valdés, aged 27, Touré, aged 26, and Messi, 22, all have many more also left at the club.

Every area
