Internationals back for duty

Xavi, Puyol, Sergio Busquets, Alves, Piqué and Iniesta, the last members of the squad to finish their holidays, were back at the Club on Monday morning for their preseason medicals.


Josep Guardiola is gradually building up his full squad for the 2009/10 season. The six players that took part in the Confederations Cup, Puyol, Piqué, Sergio Busquets, Xavi and Alves, returned on Monday morning for their medicals. Andrés Iniesta, who is still recovering from injury, was also at the Sports Centre training grounds.

An early start

2009-07-27_ALVES_02.jpgThe six players reporters to the Joan Gamper Sports Centre at 8.30 am and immediately set off for the Camp Nou to be checked over by the Club’s medical team – the same series of tests as carried out on the rest of the squad a week previously .

Iniesta progressing well

2009-07-27_PIQUE_01.jpgAndrés Iniesta, who has been carrying an injury to his right thigh, came through all the tests satisfactorily. He should now be able to exercise with the ball on Monday afternoon.
Internationals back for duty
7 pm session
These six players will have a special training session at the Sports Centre at 7 pm today (Monday). Meanwhile the rest of the squad will enjoy a much deserved day off after returning from England on Sunday. The whole squad will then train on Tuesday before setting off for the United States on Wednesday.
