Time to get back up

Anna Segura

Barça returned to training knowing they have to put the Champions League behind them and turn attention back to the League. Xavi didn’t train today, as he is taking tests on his left leg.

Going out of Europe to Inter Milan was a tough blow for Barça, but there is no time for lamentations with the trip to Villarreal just two days away. The game that will kick off at 10.00 at El Madrigal is of utmost importance to FCB’s league aspirations.

No Xavi

The players assembled for training at 12.00, and were joined by youth players Thiago Alcántara and Andreu Fontàs, as well as goalkeeper Oier.

But Xavi was missing, due to a minor calf injury. Sergio Busquets, meanwhile, also missed training in order to receive treatment on his left knee.

Starters take it easy

Josep Guardiola and the others stayed on for a full training session ahead of the game with Villarreal, the start of a week in which Barça have 9 of the last 12 league points to play for.
