Back to work with League in sight

Vanessa Forns

Barça returned to training today after Saturday’s win against Madrid. Only Piqué, who was doing recovery work, worked out in isolation.

After having Sunday off, Josep Guardiola’s side got back to training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper at 11.00, with the next challenge being the League match with Deportivo at the Camp Nou, with another League match to come shortly after.

Milito back to normal

2010-04-12_ENTRENO_08.JPG19 players were present, with Ibrahimovic and Abidal both still unfit. Milito, who hobbled off in the 78th minute of the game at the Bernabéu, has suffered no repercussions, and was able to train normally.

But Gerard Piqué worked out separately with a fitness coach as part of a specific recovery programme.

Reserves present

2010-04-12_ENTRENO_54.JPGAs usual, Josep Guardiola included some younger players in the session, with the honour on Monday going to Barça Atlètic’s Edu Oriol, Ilie, Luque and Gai. The media was only permitted to attend the first 15 minutes, which mainly consisted of the usual warm-ups.

Same time, same place

FC Barcelona will be back at it on Tuesday and once again at 11.00 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Josep Guardiola will be speaking to the media about the forthcoming game with Deportivo after it is over.

Great atmosphere
The players are clearly on a high after the great result at the weekend. That was evident when Barça Atlètic’s Edu Oriol went in a bit hard with a tackle on Lionel Messi. Dani Alves, in typically good humour, had a word with the player, telling him “anybody but him. You can’t touch that one”.
