Recovery without Messi

Jordi Clos

The players that started against Arsenal underwent recuperation work today, but Leo Messi, who is feeling unwell with a migraine, was advised to rest. The Argentinian will be rejoining the squad on Friday.

The day after drawing at the Emirates, Barça got back to action with a training session behind closed doors at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The players that played in London worked separately from the others, with the former merely warming down after last night’s exertions.

Messi sick

But he should be back to work tomorrow, Friday, when there is a session at 12.00, once again in Sant Joan Despí.

The players were joined by youth team midfielder Jonathan dos Santos and youth keeper Jordi Masip, who worked out along with reserve keeper José Manuel Pinto and goalkeepers coach Juan Carlos Unzué.

Special visit
Although it was a behind closed doors session, there were plenty of people there to watch: children from the International FCB Schools in Dubai, Egypt, Kuwait and Hong Kong. On Monday, the training session was watched by another set of 16 children from the FCB School in Fukuoka (Japan).
